Dan started farming in 1977, later joined by his 2 daughters Michelle Pohl & Jen McCormick.
We take pride in taking care of our animals and making sure they have the best quality feed and sand bedding possible. The better you treat an animal, the happier they are!
Dan started buying cows in 1977 from Foss, a local livestock market. He eventually rented a tie-stall barn to milk 60 cows in. He got an opportunity in 1988 to move to Florida and manage a large farm "Levy County Dairy" which is where he spent 2 years with his family and learned the skills he needed to come home and expand his farm.
In 1995, Dan built a 400 cow free-stall barn with a double 12 herringbone parlor. It quickly expanded into another twin free-stall making it around 800 milking cows. Over the years the family expanded to now milking between 1200-1250 cows which involved a new double 20 parallel parlor in 2015. Daughters Michelle Pohl and Jennifer McCormick became partners in 2011. Michelle attended RIT and studied Accounting and is now the farms accountant. Jen went to Morrisville and studied Animal Science and is now the Herd Manager.
